The Purpose of this Post

I pulled the Fool card the other day when I asked to receive a message my collective tribe needed to know.  Always excited to see this wild and free spirit show up, I began to contemplate what exactly her message to you was.  The intuitive energy I felt was to make sure you understand precisely what it means to find and embrace your own free spirit and take a chance expressing it.

For me, this used to sound better in theory than actually putting it into action.  I have always struggled with the overwhelming desire to be completely myself but still remain in the protective bubble of comfort and conformity.  The Fool has been my muse for longer than I can remember, it’s energy calling me forward and to bust through my blocks.  Finally, I am in a place where I am actively taking aligned action to release my inner wild and follow my soul to the land of total and complete freedom.

The purpose of my post is to share with you 5 things that happened to me when I took a leap of faith and followed my Fool in the hopes that it will also inspire you to do the same.

What is a Leap of Faith?

leap of faith
an act of believing in or attempting something whose existence or outcome cannot be proved.
-Oxford Dictionary

Take a second to think about your life thus far.  Chances are, you have made a decision or two to act when you didn’t know what would happen.  You followed your intuition and it either worked out the way you expected or it didn’t.  Either way, you learned something that had a hand creating the person you are today.

We take leaps of faith every day, even if we don’t realize it.  Taking a chance switching careers or starting a relationship with someone.  Challenging the beliefs you hold or walking away from a toxic situation.  My point is, you are already experienced in taking a chance on yourself.  It’s time to recognize the strength you have as a human and understand that following your intuition doesn’t have to be as hard as you make it.

5 Life Changing Gifts From Taking a Leap of Faith

First, I would like to give you a little background on the Fool in a tarot deck and the archetype she embodies.  Brave, bold and fearless, the Fool embodies the qualities of excitement and expectation.  She eagerly leaves the comfort of home, knowing she will experience adventures on her journey that she is meant to have.  Leaving all doubt behind, the Fool steps fully into her wild authentic self, allowing the pure joy of freedom to wash over her and simply follow her heart.

Taking this spirit of the Fool into your own life, I give you 5 experiences I had and gift them to you as encouragement to take your own leap.

You Find Your Voice

For the longest time, I had no idea who I was.  So accustomed to taking on everyone else’s expectations and ignoring my own, I molded myself into what I felt would give me the most love and acceptance in my life. So when the time came where I couldn’t ignore the primal urge emanating from my soul to stop pretending, I felt completely and utterly at a loss as to who the heck I really was.

I had a choice to make.  Remain in the comfort of my protective cloak of conformity or get naked.  I knew I couldn’t ignore my soul any longer than I already had, so I had to take the masks off.  And it was terrifying.  The couldn’t sleep, constantly afraid kind of terrifying.  The amazing thing is once I did make the decision to leap, the fear didn’t last long.  All I did was remind myself to take one small step forward every day to move me closer to my goal of authenticity.  Each time I did, it became clearer and clearer who I really was and what I stood for.

When you practice coming out of hiding and using your voice, it gets easier each time.  What step can you take today to remove one of your many masks?

You Discover Courage

If you had told me a few years ago that I would be a tarot reader and writing a blog about it, I would have told you that you were crazy.  Never in a million years did I imagine this would be my path.  The amazing thing that happens when you start to uncover your wild is you find courage to follow your intuition down the dark and secret alleyways of life.  This courage propels you forward to take more leaps, more jumps into the unknown and your entire outlook changes.

For me, I secretly began reading tarot for myself and didn’t tell a soul.  No one.  I bought into the idea that tarot was taboo and I would disappoint so many people if they knew what I was doing.  Thankfully, just by practicing following the breadcrumbs to my next destination while finding who I was, I picked up courage along the way.  The more I dug into what made my soul sing, the braver I got until finally I came out loud and proud.

What makes your soul sing?  How can you follow that passion and collect courage along the way?

You Find Freedom

I have always said I am a gypsy at heart.  Never having the desire to stay in one place for very long, I yearned to travel and explore.  Life works in funny ways, however, and a series of choices that had years long consequences kept me rooted firmly in one spot.  So, I had to get creative and find ways of finding freedom as I lived my day to day life.  This came in the form of learning and creating, channeling my wild into searching for paradigm shifts and new perspectives.

The more I became comfortable following my free spirit and where it led me, the more my view of my world shifted.  I uncovered beliefs I held for most of my life that weren’t mine and rewrote the rules.  The exhilaration was intoxicating, a clear indicator that the path I was following was the right one.

When you throw out what you think you know and open yourself up to what you don’t, you create a level of freedom previously unknown by you.  What beliefs can you challenge today that will propel your wild forward to authenticity?

You Trust Yourself

The reason I picked up tarot cards in the first place is because of my desire to figure out who to connect with my intuition.  Someone once said to me that when you have a horizontal line across the bridge of your nose, it’s a clear sign you don’t trust your intuition.  Well, guess what?  That line is clear as day on my nose.

Whether that is true or not, I knew deep down that I didn’t trust myself.  Always over analyzing and overthinking everything, the energy I spent in pure doubt was exhausting.  The What Ifs ruled my life and I knew that something had to change.  The first step I took to connect with my intuition led me straight to tarot cards and immediately I noticed a change in my belief in myself.  Tarot for me is like being under a warm blanket in front of a fire when it’s snowing out.  A sense of being home and wrapped in comfort.  It provided the validation I needed to finally trust the quiet inner voice in my head and follow where it led me.

Trusting your intuition is an essential component for unleashing your trapped wild spirit.  What is your relationship with yours and how can you deepen the connection?

You Achieve Your Dream

Making the decision to not only see the wild inside of me but also to let it free was the best thing I have ever done for myself.  Understanding how I had held myself back from so much in my lifetime was the first step forward, the hardest step.  Once I started moving forward, I knew there was no moving back and understood that every experience I would encounter would hold a gift to move me even closer to living my dream life.

I am still on my journey but the exponential growth I have experienced has blown me away.  Not the same person who started, I see my progress daily and love who I am.  Following my inner Fool has brought me to where I am now, achieving goals and dreams almost on a daily basis.  I am so proud of myself for taking that initial leap of faith, straight into my best life.

Knowing what direction you are heading is essential to your growth.  What is your dream?

Final Thoughts from the Fool

Get messy.  Throw out the perfectionism, view your fears as lessons and get out of your own way.  You possess a wild and free spirit unique to you that will lead you towards a life of purpose and meaning.  Take the first step to connecting with yours right now!  The initial jump is always the hardest but imagine what comes next for you once you do.

I am so excited to meet your wild and hear what she has in store for you.  Let me know in the comments about your jump, your journey and your dream.
